This was a big day for the kid. For starters, it was her first day to have Show & Tell, it was also Picture Day and then I picked her up after school to get to her dentist appointment where she was brave enough to get a super loose baby tooth yanked out.
I wish I could have seen her giving her little talk at Show & Tell. You just know I would have taken 27 pictures of the whole event. Alas, I could not and can only ask about how it went.
They are currently working on the letter M, so the kids had to bring something with M in mind. She brought her Tinker Bell garden rock with a big letter M carved on it. Luckily, it wasn't as heavy as it sounds and it's very cute.
It was also picture day, so sometime in the future, maybe we can send you a cute photo of her in her purple shirt and hopefully nicely brushed hair.
Here is Molly, and Doc McStuffins, showing us the sort of empty spot where her baby tooth was. I say sort of, because the new tooth has been patiently waiting for the baby tooth to get out of the way for some time now.
There was absolutely no way that this child was going to allow either of us to pull that little speck of a tooth out. She would cry and get really nervous, so we left well enough alone, not wanting to traumatize her about it.
As luck would have it, we happened to have her 6 month check-up at the dentist scheduled for this afternoon. The hygienist was exceptionally sweet to her and they talked to each other the whole time as I just proudly watched on.
Molly got her teeth cleaned, polished and thoroughly checked out with a clean bill of health and no cavities. I asked about the loose tooth and she said it would be nothing to pull it right out, so I told her about Molly's high anxiety over this issue. She put some flavored numbing gel on a q-tip and asked Molly to gently bite down on it. As she did, this put the numbing gel on the spot and angled the tooth right out....plop, into her hand, just like that. Molly was amazed and thrilled to get it out with no feeling at all.
She is now awaiting her second visit from the Tooth Fairy, asleep and dreaming about a bright shiny quarter that she can put in her Rapunzel bank.
Oh, to have such sweet and simple dreams.
