End of the School Year

We didn't really plan this picture.  I sat on the floor and they started to surround me, cuddling up for a story before nap time.  The little ones were tuckered out and the bigger ones were just wondering what was going on always ready to join in for a photo.  Being so very young, half of these kiddos will be back in our toddler class next fall and half will either move up to the primary class or on to other schools.

Cutie-tooties!

Gathering around the table to see what Miss Beverly is working on.

This is Molly's Pre-K classroom and she's busy working puzzles with her friend.

Boys being boys.

Girls being girls.

Almost always the last one done at snacktime and lunchtime.

The toddler class, getting ready to clean hands and pray before lunch.

Next year will be fun, but how I will miss seeing my baby girl just down the hall.  Her backpack and cubby marker will be at a different school.  It's been a great experience sharing this preschool time with her.

The Pet Fair and Party

Last week, we went to the vet / pet fair at Village Vet.  They had lots of booths with everything from face painting, which Molly just had to do...and then there was a big bounce house, and booths with anything pet related you can think of, even the police dogs with their bullet proof dog vests, info on pet adoption, all kinds of pet medical conditions and prevention.  It was fun

Someone was very happy to get a unicorn and starry sky painted onto her face.

Pay no attention to those dark and ominous storm clouds in the distance.  This was about 15 minutes before the skies opened up and rained down while she was in the bounce house.  It was only for about 5 minutes, but wow!, did it rain!  No one left, just waited, then went back to the fun.

Here with the WhatsHappeningGeorge.com sign...

Back home to rest up for the party we went to for little Lucy in my class who was turning 2.  We went to a place called Heidi's Musical Gym where the kids played and played, and then it was time for presents and cake.

Molly met up with her pal and they had a blast.  Molly could barely keep up with her though.

Playing on the balancing thing.

Gathered up to listen to the instructor.

Eatin' cake, still with her fancy face paint...most of the other kids wanted to know if they could get their faces painted too.  It was a fun day for us all.

The Perfect Spring Day.

Love this photo of Molly playing in the spray mister.

Putting the kid to work cleaning the wheel barrel and tools after we got the garden planted.

Here's the garden just after getting it all planted.  We've got 2 kinds of tomatoes, jalapenos, Anaheim's  bells, garlic, onion, chive from last year, squash, zucchini, melon, corn, celery.  We'll see how things go as the season progresses.

Playing in the sprayer again.

She just couldn't get enough.

Lizzie played hard too....chomping at the water.

These two had a blast playing in the water.

Drying off in the front yard.  Here she just went to see the bus and wave at some kids walking by.  A very nice older girl smiled at her and waved.  Made me happy to see a big kid being nice to her.

She was so happy!

Preschool Graduation

Posing with her diploma.  We got to keep the tassel too.

Here come the little graduates.

She looked a bit nervous.

Getting her diploma from Miss Judy, her teacher.

Singing a song...some yelling, some sitting down, some pulling up their dresses...oh my goodness.

We made it through the program and she got her diploma.

Having some ice cream with her friend Kayla.

Posing with her pal Evan.

We're very proud of our little girl and she's so ready for Kindergarten too.

Practicing For The Show.

This is one of our practice times for the end of the year program with the kids from the monday / wednesday classes. The top row is Molly's Pre-K class, the middle is the Primary class and the bottom row is the Toddler class.

Singing, or shouting "5 Little Monkeys."

Little bunny girl hopping up to get her diploma.

Singing "Skinna-merinky-dinky-dink."
They love that one.

Our Last Days Of Preschool.

7:00am
Our time together at preschool is nearly over, just a few more days. At the moment, my baby girl is asleep in her cozy bed down the hall. I just heard the school bus stop down the street. That's the bus she'll ride in the fall. Those old familiar butterflies from my own school days rose up in my gut when I saw it round the corner. HOW am I supposed to put my perfectly sweet, innocent, easily heartbroken, loving little baby on a bus, let someone I don't know drive it away to a school full of more people I don't know?

Here she is yesterday morning, before we left for school / work. My sweet baby.

How many more pictures do you need?  I'm going in now.

5:05pm
Today, we ran errands...went to the bank, paid our summer pool membership, made copies of her shots records, dropped off the original shots records to the primary school office, both got our hair trimmed, and then to Firehouse Subs for lunch.  It was a good, productive day.

On Tuesday, she got her 5th year health check-up which called for a double round of shots, a blood draw and urine sample...and lots and lots of questions regarding her hearing, vision, diet, general knowledge and age level abilities.  I was so proud of her at the start...but boy, when she realized the shots were coming, she officially lost all composure!

Those blue eyes surveyed me with contempt when I told her "yes you're getting shots today."  This realization came right when I was trying to catch that urine stream...nice, I know.  She then peed all over my hand and arm...but I didn't care.  I had to get that pee.  What we as parents will do in the moment, right?

She screamed half naked from the restroom back to the exam room.  She turned red, her eyes turned more blue, tears and snot streaming all over...wow!  The nurse somehow managed to get the blood sample from a finger prick and then quickly and compassionately got shots in each thigh and talked her calmly back down to a whimper.

Once Molly realized she had a Rapunzel band-aid, all was well again.  We got our treat and a sticker, I apologized for the noisy visit and we went home.  She wore the band-aids for over a day afterwards and even walked with a pitiful limp whenever she remembered the ordeal.

One step closer to Kindergarten.
