Our Morning at Anchor Park

How beautiful is this?  I'm amazed that this is 3 miles from our house.  These first three photos are a panorama of Anchor Park from the dock near the play area.

The play area where we met up with one of Molly's friends from school, his mom and little sister.  It was a perfect day to spend playing on the swings, slides, jungle gym and huge sandbox stocked with toys.

Here they are playing in the log cabin playhouse.

Learning how to move her feet so she can swing by herself.

They ran all over that park.  He rolled down the grassy hill...she didn't want to get grass in her hair.  Girls and boys, already so different.

He was throwing rocks and dirt into the water...she was content to watch.  Thank goodness for me being nervous so close to the water.

Such great fun to toss sand into the water off the dock.

Such sweet kids.

Evidently, this is a fun place for kids to learn how to fish.  This redhead kid and another, were having a blast fishing off the dock.

After our friends left, Molly insisted we take the bike out of the car so she could ride it...much better than in circles on our driveway.  She rode from the west dock to the east dock.

She was getting sweaty and tired, but told me she loved it and didn't want much help.

On a break on the far dock.  The Jimmy is park way over on the other side, if you click on this photo, you can see it.

I think if Claude Monet were still alive, he would find this spot to be most paintable.  It's unbelievable gorgeous and I feel blessed to live here.

When are you going to join us for a picnic?  We are currently taking reservations.

Molly's New Playhouse

After spending a lot of time on leveling the ground and removing stumps and roots, Dan got the spot ready for the pavers.  Here it is with the sand and pavers ready for the next day.

We just got the sand as level as possible...someone helped and was very proud.

Pavers are in, time for some filler sand in the gaps.

We had a very willing assistant.

Don't know how Dan did it, but he moved the shed up into position in no time.

Could it be that the huge box in the garage we been walking past and parking in front of was actually going to be opened up and the playhouse built?  Seems like we've had this thing for forever.

Looks so neat and tidy in that box...perfectly packed.

Molly took this one of us working away on the house.

It was very warm and humid, but we managed to smile for her...she was so happy and excited.

Time to read the instructions again.

Pieces all laid out on the tarp.

It's starting to look like a real house.

The last time Dan will stand up straight and tall in this house.  The roof is next.

Already talking on the play phone.

All done!

She pretends she is selling lemonade, ice cream and hot dogs.

Her first customer.

A few days later, Molly and I chose some cheery sunflowers from the dollar store to dress up the window boxes.  We had the car antenna flag in the garage so I stuck it in the window.

Cute little ladybug girl and the cutest playhouse I have ever seen in my life.  Good job Daddy!

Baseball and a Phone Call.

I just liked how this photo turned out with the sun reflected off the glass door onto her face with the halo of golden hair with light from behind.

Batter-up.  She says "Keep your eye on the ball" whenever a ball is tossed to her.  I guess Dan told her to remember that.  I was pitching to her on this day while he was at work.  I mentioned that I didn't think I was as good a pitcher as Daddy, to which she said..."Yeah, but that's alright.  I still love you just the way you are."

Here she is a few minutes later.  As we were cooling off on the patio, Dan happened to call from work.  Here are her many expressions while talking to him.

So, when you are talking to her on the phone, just know that this is just what she looks like.

Lizzie's Bathtime

Please note that Lizzie is not the one in the tub.

Someone else decided that the water looked just fine, so she hopped into the tub first.
Instead of the bath, Lizzie got a shower.
I think that she loved it.
Giggles and splashes on a warm afternoon.  Not a bad way to spend a day.
